Landmark Stories from Pinfields Accountants

Landmark Story #1

When this long-time client, had the worst happen, they had a decision to make.

A devastating warehouse fire could pull them under, or provide opportunity for resilience, teamwork and adaptability to persevere and prosper.

The initial practicalities that needed to be addressed following this huge loss were tackled head on, and with our team alongside to provide not only financial knowledge, but a shoulder of support through his dealings with insurance negotiations, financing discussions and finding new premises, the business was able to explore the options available to them and rebuild.

The impact upon his team members was of paramount importance to the director and a primary concern in recovering from this crisis was to protect the jobs of his people. Utilising an advisor who understood this and shared that passion to put people first was key, and through that connection, we were proud to be able to help to ensure that this was achieved.

The business not only survived, but flourished and is thriving today. The new premises secured were larger, showing bravery and positivity even in the face of hard times, leading to outstanding growth, even the purchase of a second business.

The director approached these undeniably stressful circumstances with an open mindset and constructive approach, working together with us to offer advice and support when it really mattered.

Landmark Story #2

Is it possible to have a vested interest in such a variety of business projects and ensure that they all thrive and continue to do so? This family of driven and ambitious individuals are involved in multiple businesses, in varying industries and show that the answer is yes.

From investment in racing horses, all the way up to a multi-million pound enterprise, they are proving it every day.

When a local care home was underperforming, they saw an opportunity to build relationships within a community. Through bringing in much needed investment and business knowledge and their commitment to this business, the home has come out of special measures and now has an excellence rating to be proud of.

With a personal passion for horses and racing, the individuals have owned stables and run these as a source of enjoyment as well as a business. Through the growth of their business portfolio, they have now been able to act as sponsor for racehorses, proving that the managing of their businesses is supporting them in living the lifestyle they wanted for themselves, and combining business with pleasure.

When staffing changes within their largest company meant that their finance function was impacted, they were able to call upon our team to bridge the gap and support at ground level, whilst still being able to provide the advice and support in their business growth ambitions.

This level of diversity requires an enormous amount of determination. With their largest business having recently celebrated their 30th anniversary, we are honoured to be a part of their story.
